Under minimal supervision the Coding Analyst utilizes knowledge of ICD-9-CM, and CPT coding principles as well as payer requirements in order to accurately assign the appropriate codes following coding policies and procedures. The Analyst performs abstracting and utilizes the 3M Encoder. The analyst must maintain the required Continuing Education Requirements. Education: Associate Degree or BS Degree in HIM or CCS certification. Licensure/Certifications: RHIT or RHIA or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) Experience: Two years HIM experience required. Demonstrates effective communication skills.
