Coventry Health Care of Kansas, a Fortune 500 health insurance company has an opening for a Regional VP of Sales in our Commercial Health Division. This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and leading the Health Plan’s/sector’s overall sales and marketing strategy within a regional service area. Responsible for administrative and operational matters affecting sales of Health Plan’s/sector’s product. Accountable for driving and achieving company-defined sales objectives.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Establishes sales goals and management objectives based upon corporate sales and marketing goals and implements strategies to achieve these while maintaining cost.
- Develops relationships with brokers and community to enable Health Plan/sector to offer products and market to groups in Regional service area.
- Develops large and small group acquisitions through target marketing principally using a combination of a self-funded and HMO integrated approach.
- Supports Account Executives with strategic development of large and small group cases.
- Implements an integrated strategy with the existing customer base and participates at top management level in setting goals and business planning for membership growth.
- Responsible for implementation of new out-of-state offices.
- Implements internal workflow and tracking systems for sales, service, and marketing administration to maximize productivity within the department.
- Assists in the development of new products or product line extensions, certificates of coverage, as well as the projection of membership goals for all product lines.
- Develops and implements service standards to improve and maintain quality service for new or existing clients.
- Leads the integration of quality management and team building dynamics into the sales/renewal process and training.
- Works closely with the Communications Department to ensure the effective integration of materials, advertising and promotions into the sales and renewal processes.
- Recruits, develops, and motivates staff. Initiates and communicates a variety of personnel actions including employment, termination, performance review, salary reviews, and disciplinary actions.
